Lisa Murphy Dietitian 2

Get to know your NDIS dietitian, Lisa Murphy

We’ve asked our wonderful dietitian, Lisa Murphy, a couple of questions so that you can get to know her!

Why did you become a dietitian?

I always wanted to work in a role that involved helping people. I enjoy problem solving and working as part of a team too so being a dietitian means I get to do all of these things every day.

What has led to your passion for disability?

Helping people to achieve their goals in all capacities is very rewarding. Sometimes even the smallest goals have a significant impact on an individual’s quality of life and helping them to achieve this goal is the best part of my job.

Do you have a memorable experience of assisting a client to achieve their goals that you’d like to share?

I helped a client to gain weight so that they became more confident in their own physical abilities and less reliant on formal supports which helped to increase their independence with activities of daily living.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to exercise, try out new food spots and go to the beach for a swim/dog watch 🙂

What is your favourite food?

Thai food!

In another life, if you weren’t a dietitian, what do you think you’d be doing?

I’d love to be a pilot!

What is one thing that people would be suprised to learn about you? Do you have a hidden talent?

I have run a marathon!

Favourite movie, book and holiday?

Movie: The Sound of Music

Book: Verity by Colleen Hoover

Holiday: (Day) – Christmas!
