The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a great way for people who live with a disability to gain access and support to a range of different services, easing the minds of the participants, their families and their carers.
For those eligible, the NDIS provides funding for a range of different services including transport, therapeutic supports, any modification needed in your home or vehicle, employment help and health and wellbeing activities.
At Active Ability, we are mobile NDIS-registered physiotherapists, meaning we can provide you with our efficient plan and participant care and management and any assistance you need with those hard-to-answer questions.

Active Ability also offers Paediatric Physiotherapy for children and adolescents in Marrickville, focusing on improving their movement, function, and overall quality of life. Our experienced professionals work closely with young patients and their families for a comprehensive assessment of individual needs and develop personalised treatment plans.
Using a range of techniques and therapies tailored to each child’s unique requirements, we aim to enhance physical development, provide relief for chronic pain, and promote independence. Our compassionate approach and child-friendly environment ensure that every session is comfortable and effective, helping children reach their full potential.
Paediatric physiotherapy is instrumental in aiding children with mental health conditions, intellectual disabilities, neurological issues and musculoskeletal conditions.
- It enhances mood and reduces anxiety and depression symptoms by encouraging physical activity.
- It improves motor skills, balance, and muscle strength, enabling better engagement in daily tasks.
- Neurologically challenged children benefit from improved mobility, muscle tone, and posture, fostering independence and preventing the need for future therapy like musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
- For injury recovery, including sports injuries, sports physiotherapy rebuilds strength, flexibility, and coordination, ensuring a safe return to activities.
Your physio will discuss your health history, assess your current function, and devise an evidence-based treatment plan to suit your needs and goals.
Depending on what you’d like to achieve, your NDIS physio treatment might include:
