Get to know your NDIS dietitian,
Louisa Carter!
We’ve asked our passionate and dedicated dietitian, Louisa Carter, a couple of questions so that you can get to know her!
Why did you become a dietitian?
I became a dietitian because I’ve always been interested in the powerful role food plays in health, quality of life, and independence.
What has led to your passion for disability?
The disability sector is a diverse and fulfilling career space where no two days are ever the same. It offers continuous learning, meaningful work, and opportunities for ongoing career progression
Do you have a memorable experience of assisting a client to achieve their goals that you’d like to share?
One memorable experience involved supporting a client who was a very fussy eater with a limited range of accepted foods. I was able to work with the client and their support to introduce new foods, food textures, and familiarity. Over time, the client was able to accept and accept a wider variety of foods.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I enjoy exercising, reading, walking and playing with my dogs, playing with my cats and spending time with friends and family.
What is your favourite food?
My favourite food is Messina ice cream.
In another life, if you weren’t a dietitian, what do you think you’d be doing?
Probably a teacher.
What is one thing that people would be surprised to learn about you? Do you have a hidden talent?
I am able to lick my elbow!
Favourite movie?
My favourite move is cheaper by the dozen – a classic!
