Getting to know Active Ability’s practice manager, Bianca Semaan
We wanted to give you the opportunity to get to know Active Ability’s energetic, cheerful and very funny practice manager Bianca Semaan, so we’ve asked her a couple of questions.
Why did you begin work at Active Ability?
I want to make a difference, no matter how big or small, so if I can make people’s lives easier, especially those who are experiencing hard times, then I know I have helped someone and that’s what life is all about.
What has led to your passion for disability?
My aunty has a disability and I saw how much the people in her life supporting her had an enormous impact on her life. I also saw how much she appreciated positive interactions with others and how she valued being able to live her life as independently as possible. This is what I want to do for others.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I love to walk my two dogs, spend time with my nieces and nephews, read books and swim.
What is your favourite sport and food?
My favourite sport is oz-tag.
My favourite food is popcorn.
In another life, if you weren’t working at Active Ability, what do you think you’d be doing?
I’d be a fighter pilot!
What is one thing that people would be surprised to learn about you? Do you have a hidden talent?
I’m an excellent party planner!
What is your favourite movie, book and holiday?
Movie: The Lion King
Book: The Dry, Jane Harper
Holiday: Japan
